Been working day and night to finish up my uni folio last few weeks. come out epic and fully stoked with the final product. get down to the exhibition next thursday at QCA to get your greedy eyes on it.

Got myself a job as a driver for the next few days on the farewell Powderfinger tour. Always a pleasure to drive them around, all legends. Stoked about my job title too.

Other pic is Noosa, from last weekend where i became the froth monster. Was awesome shooting in the water with everyone out there. Wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. Yeeeeah Noosa.

2 Weekends ago too me to North Stradbroke island to shoot a bit of behind the scenes stuff for a new campaign the boys at Vanguard are putting together. Rain couldn't stop the antics of the boys usual shoots and a rad time was definitely had by all. The following are random shots that show none of their clothing, cant give it away just yet.

The last week has been hectic, more photos to come but here is a run down

- shot for brisbane writers festival
- took pics of Ahn Do while he joked about being a boat person
- crashed a 12 seater mini bus (yes i left a note) infront of 2 members of Powderfinger
- drove around acclaimed director Gregor Jordan (Unthinkable, Two Hands, Ned Kelly)
- drove around Powderfinger and their families
- worked at their concert from 7am saturday till 11am monday
- bought a new computer (27 inch Imac)
- got to meet back up with the vines and shot 2 of their songs before going back to work
- managed to completely fuck a 1tb hard drive

Im back in Brisbane and straight back into shooting...got together with a Brisbane based fashion due to shoot some product for their look book. I have been preparing a few prints for someone back in Australia and it has reminded me of how lovely the weather is there and how much we take it for granted. As i walked in the slush to uni yesturday with one foot completly wet and slowly going numb i thought about how i would rather be on my inagural Indonesia Trip. I am going travelling again tomorrow so i will be offline for about a month. Should have plenty of images for when i get back. For the time being here are a few images that were inspired by Vincent LaForet, an amazing predomiatly tilt-shift photographer but also great with video work. Check him out if you havnt seen his stuff its great.

That Time of the year again

At the begining of every year thousands of kids flock to the gold coast to stand in the hot hot sun and drink cool well over priced beers. Always an expensive day with the hang over usually lasting at least the next day as dehyration is a killer when bottles of water can be usually bought for $3 a pop. Why do we do it every year, the memory of the good times is always etched into our minds. Here is a picture i took while working at V-fest last year.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Always thought i wouldnt be that guy. There is a very valid reason. I am currently travelling through Spain, Portugal and then on to Rome.

I will be back in 2 weeks to post some more but here is a sample from the trip so far.

This post is dedicated to a big inspiration and good friend of mine. We met at university which he has just graduated. Keep an eye out for his work it wont be long before magazines are fighting over him. His work is as amazing as his stoke for life. The guy shreds in the water as well! Spring Hill Baths

A few years ago i saw a film clip by a popular Australian band named Eskimo Joe. I found the location to be very interesting and after a little research found that it was filmed in my home town of Brisbane. Situated in Spring Hill (inner city suburb) i found out that the baths are the oldest public baths in Brisbane. A few months later i was contacted by a friend who happened to be writing a story about the history of the baths and i jumped at the opportunity to take some images for his story. The place is very interesting because not only is it a public swimming pool but on the first wednesday of the month they hold an open mic night for local musicians to perform. The popularity of this event has been growing at a rapid rate ever since. Below are two images which went to print and i recommend going in for a swim in the hot months ahead.

Bloodlust Ball

Just sent off the images i shot on Halloween for a company based in London called The Button Club. They hold a ball every year called the Bloodlust Ball which i strongly recommend you all try and attend next year. Met some great people and had a fantastic night. Here are a few images i got, was a particularly well organised event with amazing food, over 500 guests, numerous celebrities and of course the paparazzi out the front. Thanks for having me Kaja and hopefully see you there again next year!

Had a friend from Australia's band come and play a show in Leeds on thursday night. Show and the evening was absolute mayhem and have to congratulate the guys on their amazing performance. I feel that post processing of images has been taken too far over the last few years. Nothing you see is real anymore, maybe i'm a realist but i wonder when the art of photography changed from its original intention of 'replicating reality' till now with its ability to often appear 'more real' than reality itself. Don't get my wrong photoshop is great however i have been browsing over the photographers images that i like and have come to realise that i appreciate someone's ability to keep post processing to a reasonable limit but still produce images that are new and different. i have recently rediscovered my love of film for its beautiful aesthetic quality. I hope you enjoy the above image (the colour cast is a mixter of a flash gel and a broken scanner) which i have come across while searching for images on my hard-drive for an upcoming project.
